Solutions that set the bar for the future of mobility.
The e-bike revolution is here, transforming urban transport into a greener, more efficient experience. However, with their growing popularity comes the need for stricter compliance to ensure safety on shared pathways and streets. This week, we reflect on the City of Vancouver’s concern about bike lanes’s speed limits. Research conducted by TransLink in the area shows the proportion of e-bike riders growing from 4.5 percent in 2019 to 16.4 percent and that of electric scooter riders from 0.4 percent to 4.2 percent causing concern for safety in increasingly motorized bike lanes (Global News, December 17, 2024).
At FTEX, our research and proximity to e-bike and e-scooter makers have allowed us to anticipate that need and devise a solution for vehicle makers. Offering advanced motor control systems and proprietary software that allow manufacturers to integrate speed-limiting features directly into their e-bikes, FTEX enables a true partnership between manufacturers, municipalities, and riders. Safer streets, shared pathways, and responsible riding are the goals. By enforcing speed caps at the firmware level and monitoring through our IoT tools, FTEX’s solutions minimize the risk of tampering, ensuring that e-bikes are compliant with local regulations and safer for their riders, fellow riders and pedestrians alike.
By embedding compliance into the core design of e-bikes, FTEX provides manufacturers, municipalities, and riders a direct way to maintain safer urban environments. This proactive approach ensures that speed limits are consistently adhered to, reducing accidents and enhancing the overall riding experience. More than technological innovations, FTEX’s integrated solutions reflect a commitment to creating harmony between mobility and safety, paving the way for shared pathways that are accessible and secure for everyone.
FTEX believes in building a future where technology and sustainability go hand in hand in creating change. Our solutions don’t just meet today’s needs; they set the bar for the future of mobility. Together, we can shape a world where innovation drives safety, and every ride contributes to a more sustainable tomorrow. The future is electric, responsible, and powered by FTEX.
